Have you met Emily?
We had the opportunity to meet one of our awesome members, Emily, for coffee and learn about what got her into CrossFit and what she is working on. She’s been training since 2014 and with CrossFit Tigard since 2017. She won our January Nutrition challenge and is on track to do some great things with her fitness!

What do you do for work?
I started a business in October as a Real Estate Transaction Manager. I help real estate agents manage all their paperwork, payments, and other transactions.
What first caught your interest about trying CrossFit?
I knew I’d never be regular at traditional gyms because It wouldn’t be fun. I wasn’t going to stay motivated by myself. So I started training Crossfit in 2014 in Hilsboro.
What was your first workout at CrossFit Tigard like?
It was in 2017 and it was an Overhead Squat Workout with running. One of the students (Dom) ran with me on my last run!
What is one of your proudest achievements in the last 6 months?
I’ve lost 20 lbs since January. I did the CF Tigard nutrition challenge for extra accountability. If I tell people I am going to do something, then I’m going to do it.
What is the next thing you would like to accomplish with your fitness?
I want to solidify my habit of maintaining nutrition and fitness and build it into a longterm healthy lifestyle.
What is something about you that most people wouldn’t know?
I do West Coast Swing and Country dancing. I competed in my first dance competition at age 5.
Any advice for someone getting started?
Just start. A lot of people think they need to get in shape before they start, but have a hard time doing it on their own. Just come in and start!
