Have you met Collin?

Collin set a routine of coming in to the 530am class 4-5 days per week and has stuck to it every week since January. He has also attended almost every skill clinic and workshop we’ve offered. His consistency and passion for learning have led to some pretty impressive PRs on his lifts lately and great improvements in his skills.

Next time you see him in class, say hello!

What do you do for work?

Director of operations for Roxy’s Island Grill.

What caught your interest about trying CrossFit?

ALL my friends do it—in Salem and Eugene. It looked like hard work and a good way to get in shape.

What was your first workout and how did it go?

It was the first class for the 6-week challenge. I asked if I could come back Tuesday [The challenge was scheduled for M/W/F]. That first week was the only week that I’ve come less than 4 times since joining.

What is your proudest achievement in the past 3-6 months?

During The Open, I learned how to string multiple toes to bars together. I had got a tip from a classmate to push away from the bar and it was just what I needed.

What is the next thing you are going to accomplish with your fitness?

Work on getting handstand pushups and muscle ups.

What is your most embarrassing CrossFit moment?

I fell off the bar on toes to bars. Twice. I didn’t realize how important grip was. I’m more conscientious now.

What is something about you that most people at the gym wouldn’t know about you?

I build project jeeps. I have a Cherokee that I drive and a Wrangler that I am working on.

What advice would you give to someone getting started?

Set a routine that you can stick with. 530am is the only time my phone isn’t ringing for week, so it’s when I get my workout in. I make it in to 530am at least 4 days a week.
