Since opening our doors, we have continually developed and expanded our expert fitness team, expanded our facility and equipment, added beginner’s programs, bootcamp classes, and on-boarding processes, refined our nutrition coaching process, evolved our workout programming, and improved our training, community, and atmosphere in order to best take care of you and your goals.

About the Owner …
Gym founder Phil Menagh (PJ) became passionate about exercise in nutrition at a young age: renting and reading every nutrition and training book in the high school library. He went on to earn Summa cum laude honors in the Nutrition and Exercise Science program at Oregon State, where he also interned for the Bone Research Lab in the College of Health and Human Sciences.
In 2007, PJ joined the Air Force and became a Registered Dietitian with specialization in sports nutrition.
In 2008, he was a key contributor to a High Intensity, Functional Fitness-Based initiative for the Air Force that resulted in an improvement in average base fitness scores and a decrease in training-related injuries—earning an Air Force Best Practice Award.
Knowing that he would one day return home to open a gym. PJ visited over 25 different CrossFit Gyms from 2009-2012 and accumulated 750+ shadow/intern hours. Making careful notes of the best practices, class structures, programming styles, teaching progressions, and business processes. He also attended numerous specialty clinics and certifications to gain specialized experience in olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, endurance training, sport-specific training, and sports nutrition.
He left the Air Force as a Captain in 2011 and returned home to Oregon to open CrossFit Tigard--a gym dedicated to smart programming, virtuosity in coaching, customer service, and accessibility to all levels.
